Vocational Goals
Short Term
Grow closer to Christ
Taylor has been a wonderful place to grow closer to Christ. The community and chapel has been inspirational for my faith, and I have had many wonderful experiences at my church as well.
Develop my leadership Skills
The course so far has been brilliant at challenging my previous perceptions of what being a leader is and what it means to lead - throughout this year I have undergone so much personal development and learnt in so much more detail about the internal aspects of leadership.
Develop my network
Based on advice in view from the Top. I would certainly say my network has grown and developed, but not out of pursuit of connections or for the betterment of my career. Simply the joy of meeting people here.
Increase my knowledge
I forgot how much I love reading and this course has reignited that passion, it has represented a brilliant mix of Christian, personal and academic readings which has given me a holistic knowledge on leadership.
Learn from others
I have tried my best to act as a sponge this year. I have learnt so much from so many brilliant people. And have seen so many fantastic examples of servant leadership demonstrated in the most humble of forms. These people inspire me to be a more Christ-like leader.
Long Term
Become an increasingly dedicated disciple of Christ
I have undergone so much spiritual development this year. And it has been by far the most impactful aspect of being here at Taylor. I hope to drop an anchor on this experience and carry it with me as I move forward.
Lead my own family
I have seen great examples of great leadership in families here at Taylor, as well as in my own personal life. It is something I aspire to do and look forward to doing, I think it is one of life’s great privilages.
Run or influence politics in the United Kingdom.
I think certain freedoms are being threatened in the UK and Christianity is not treated with the respect it once was.
We seem to lack leaders willing to step up, and lack leaders who are willing to be kind and honest, and see the individual. I spoke more about this in our culture map assignment in our strategic leadership class.
Run my own business
This has long been an aspiration of mine, and is something I would love to do. Perhaps a combination of this goal and the above one could lead to a positive influence to a world in need.
